If you’re an avid binge-watcher, there’s a good chance that you’ve got a Netflix account. But what about when the day is over? You might be wondering where to go for your next fix of entertainment.
Or maybe you’re just looking for something new to watch on a Friday night with friends and family. In this post, I’ll show you some of the best apps and services for on-the-go entertainment, including Hulu, Sling TV, ESPN+, and more!
Hulu is an on-demand service that costs a monthly fee and has both live TV streaming and content that you can watch whenever you want. The company has more than 70 million subscribers, making it one of the largest video streaming services available.
Hulu has a free version called Hulu With Live TV, but this is only available in select markets at this time (it’s been expanded since then). This means you can’t use it if you don’t live in one of those areas!
But if you do want to try out Hulu’s service without paying anything up front—or if your Internet provider charges extra fees for watching TV shows online—then this might be the best option for you.
If there’s one thing I love about Hulu Plus’ interface, it features one main screen where everything seems easy to find and navigate through. In fact, all my favorite shows appear here first before moving onto other sections like “My Stuff” or “Upcoming Shows.”
Sling TV is a great option for cord-cutters. It offers live TV, streaming channels, and additional channels for just $25 per month. You can also add HBO or ESPN to your plan for an extra $5—or both if you have them!
Sling has no contract and works on most devices, including Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick, and Android TV boxes. You can watch on multiple devices at once by signing up with the same account under different names.
ESPN+ is a subscription service that offers live sports and original programming. It’s only available in the US, though it does have some international content.
ESPN+ costs $4.99 per month (or $49 yearly) and can be accessed on most devices, including mobile phones. If you want to use all of its features, including ESPN+, you’ll need to sign up for an account. However, signing up during this 7-day free trial won’t cost you anything extra.
Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph started Netflix on August 29, 1997, in Scotts Valley, California. It is an American company that makes movies and TV shows. It provides streaming media and video on demand online and DVDs by mail.
In addition to its US headquarters in Los Gatos, California; its international headquarters are located in Amsterdam; and its primary operations center is located in Scotts Valley, California.
DSTV is a South African subscription-based satellite television service that offers a variety of channels, including sports and movie channels. DStv also offers a variety of kids’ channels and sports channels, but it is available only in South Africa. This is the only drawback: To access DSTv in restricted countries, you’ll need a VPN. For example, you can unblock DStv in the USA only if you subscribe to a VPN and connect to a US server.
Disney+ is a streaming service that will be available in the US and the UK, with more countries coming soon. It’s expected to launch sometime in 2019, but you can sign up for an early trial now.
Disney+ features a wide range of content from all four of these brands: Disney movies, Pixar movies (including Coco), Marvel Studios’ films (including Captain Marvel), Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, and more. You’ll also get access to any TV show or movie currently available on Netflix or Hulu Plus—and if there’s something you want to see that isn’t available yet on streaming services like Amazon Prime Video or Netflix (like Black Panther), it may be added later down the line through this channel too!
Amazon Prime is a membership program offered by Amazon that gives users access to free two-day shipping, video streaming, and other benefits. The service also includes access to the Kindle Lending Library, which allows members to borrow books from their library for free with no due dates or late fees.
Amazon Prime Video is the company’s streaming service that offers over 45,000 movies and TV shows available online or on mobile devices through apps such as Fire TV Stick or Fire Tablets (Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet).
With so many options available to you, there’s no reason why you should be missing out on the best entertainment apps and services. While we have highlighted some of our favorite services here, there are many others out there that can provide you with the in-depth experience that only a streaming platform can offer. It is important to remember that these services all have different pricing models, so make sure to compare them before making any decisions about which one works best for your needs!
